BFF LACROSSE: 5 Ways To Create A Positive Journey for Yourself

5 Ways To Create A Positive Journey for Yourself

Hi all!!

No matter where you are in the process these 5 Ways To Create A Positive Journey for Yourself- will help guide the way!

This process can be a 2-3 year process.  The most important part is to start building relationships, maximizing exposure, and staying consistent and dedicated to the process.  Don’t let this opportunity fade away.  Be relentless in your commitment to follow up and stay connected with coaches.  Even if you don’t receive immediate responses all the time, don't allow the communication to lose momentum and stop you from doing your part to keep the opportunity alive.  (NCAA rules don’t always allow the communication to work both ways so no response in the beginning is normal).

Coaches are extremely busy.  Don’t get discouraged.  Be persistent with your communication until the coach blatantly tells you he/she won’t be recruiting you anymore.   When one door closes, another will open.  Your journey will always end the way it is suppose to (I promise)!

Here are 5 Ways To Create A Positive Journey for Yourself

1-Control what you can control-

Star to let go of any preconceived notions about what the process should be.  Let go of what others have done or said worked for them because guess what they are not you.

You and your SPECIAL journey will look nothing like your cousin, friend, teammate or enemy.  Your journey will be your own and with my guidance, experience, and education, the end result will be to have the best 4 years of your life.

Physically, emotionally, mentally, socially- your experience over those 4 years will shape you for the rest of your life.

2-The power is on the inside-

Don’t let the noise, social. Media or negativity bring you down or effect your journey.

When you know you have the power to control your thoughts and emotions, you will create a world with your beliefs, passion, positivity, purpose, work ethic, you become a powerful force in the world and you will control your journey.

3- Focus on Plan A, B, C- and creating solutions instead of complaints-

Going to camps, attending showcases, and receiving a few letters here and there does NOT necessarily mean you are being actively recruited.

When you’re getting recruited, you’re building meaningful relationships with coaches and developing a deeper understanding of what your perfect fit school looks like.

The only way to make sure that you receive multiple offers is to get into as many recruiting options as possible. This is a numbers game. The more options you have the more offers you may receive. And the more offers you have, the more choices you’ll have. And in the end, that’s what this is all about: having choices and choosing the perfect fit.

4-Embrace change -

It is important to know that the process can change on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.  Allowing yourself to explore schools and programs that you might not of even thought about or heard about before may open doors you never thought possible.  Don’t get your heart set on one way!  You need to be open to the possibility of so much more!

5- Put your head down, stay positive, and Do the work-

THERE ARE OVER 750 OPPORTUNITIES TO PLAY LACROSSE IN COLLEGE!

The first step is knowing who YOU are and what YOU want out of your experience.

TAKE TIME to analyze your strengths, weaknesses, dreams, fears, intentions, goals, and motivations.

Take time to discover YOURSELF.

This above all will allow YOU to be YOU.  It will create a clear path and vision.  I can’t stress enough the importance of finding and being you.  The confidence, and clarity that will come after that will help with all the decisions and factors, opportunities, and potential disappointments that may happen along the way.

Get to a wall and do  wall ball.  Work on your footwork every day.  Practice shooting, feeding, dodging, all the skills that can elevate your game.  You have the opportunity every single day and you get to decide how good you want to be.  Let’s all be GREAT.  Rise above.

GOOD LUCK!

XOXO
